I shall bow before you my king,
And in your present I shall silence,
You rein in your glory surrounded by wise man,
Although small as I am, humble before you,
May I dare to make this request,
To speak a word with you.

If I were a small bee, busy to produce its nectar,
Will you consider the point I’m making,
If I had a great idea would you listen to it,
If It were as needed as liberty would you like to know it.

Tell me how to best serve to the king,
Though small I am, humble before you,
I would never dare to give to a king,
Wisdom, when he has it,
Advice, or judgment.

Though as small a bee as I am I know
I may be utile to the king and let him know,
Though small as I am,
That a busy bee, can produce nourishing nectar.
and that sometimes appearance deceits.

Each of us contributes according to our nature.
Bees are much more useful in the scheme of things
than self serving autocratic kings

Hi Poeticpiers,

Thank you for reading my poem. I agree we act according to our nature, for good or bad. In the case of autocratic kings, it is better to serve than to dictate, because one becomes a prisioner of their own actions and thoughts.

Best of Wishes,

Orkida,

I like the inspiration in this poem...
Though, "I agree we act according to our nature, for good or bad."
I would say that most of us are neither good or bad...we are a little of both..
the issue is which one will be most predominate... Grin

Enjoyed...

Don~

Best Regards,
